NEW HOTLINE SERVICE FOR TEMPORARY AND

SPECIAL EVENTS SECURITY COVER

Text Box:

Legion have launched a dedicated telephone hotline to handle the growing demand for temporary and special events security cover.

The hotline is manned 24/7 and to cope with the anticipated demand for fully trained and licensed guards at extremely short notice, Legion have recruited more than 300 additional security guards and CCTV operators nationally

Whilst the hotline is operated from Legion’s Preston headquarters, manpower is provided by the company’s national network of regional offices to ensure security guards are deployed to site quickly and have all the necessary local knowledge required for the job

Within days of the hotline going live calls began coming in, and Legion have appointed a full-time co-ordinator to handle enquiries, monitor activity and liaise with the regional offices to ensure swift response to all enquiries.

Legion demonstrated their capability to handle  securitycover for major events at extremely  short

notice during the recent high profile Ealing by-election held in July.   Text Box: Outside Ealing Town Hall With Gordon Brown expected to attend, stringent security was essential, and  Legion had a week to organise a 17-strong security team with the necessary operational experience of handling mass public events.  Staff were drafted in from the company’s London, Walsall and Cambridge offices and Legion management were in regular contact with the local police presence and Council Facilities Manager throughout the event.  The tight security ensured the election passed without incident, and afterwards Ealing’s Chief Executive commended Legion staff for their professionalism.

This service will be of interest to local authorities and events organisers who may require security at one or more venues for a relatively short period of time, conference centres, concert venues, hotels and stately homes hosting major events, and construction firms where security is required only for the duration of the build.  Companies experiencing problems of sickness or unexpected absence will also find Legion’s service an effective solution.

Legion Group plc provides both security and parking services to a wide customer base, including local authorities, ports, MOD, NHS Trusts, hotels and private companies nationwide.  The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Royal British Legion Attendants Company Trust, a registered charity with the objective of providing employment for ex servicemen and women.
