The Barbican Centre, one of London’s most popular visitor attractions and Europe’s largest multi-arts, conference and exhibition venue, has appointed Legion Parking Services to manage its car parks.
Legion Parking Services have taken over from NCP and the new contract commenced on 1 June 2007.
“We are delighted and extremely proud to have been awarded the contract to manage the Barbican car parks” said Daniel Atkinson, Legion’s Managing Director. “As Britain’s longest established parking company we bring a wealth of experience and expertise and, uniquely, Legion commands the respect of the British public. We believe this is the defining quality that differentiates us from every other parking company in the UK.”
Located in the heart of the City of London, the Barbican contains a concert hall, two theatres, three cinemas, two art galleries, a public lending library and conservatory, as well as extensive conference and exhibition facilities, and its 4 car parks are used primarily by patrons of the Barbican Centre.
“Because of its location, it’s an ideal parking venue for visitors to the City of London as well as for the Centre’s patrons,” explained Atkinson. “We will be working closely with the Barbican Centre management team to improve and enhance the facilities and to promote the car parks to the wider public in order to increase usage.”
Legion Parking Services is part of Legion Group plc, a wholly –owned subsidiary of the Royal British Legion Attendants Company Trust, a registered charity with the objective of providing employment opportunities for ex service men and women.
