Residents and staff at the Gavin Astor House Nursing Home in the Royal British Legion Village in Aylesford, Kent, were last week delighted to receive a new ambulance donated by the Royal British Legion Attendants Company Trust (RBLAT).

The purpose-built care home, which opened in 1993 and is owned by Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI), offers 24 hour residential nursing care for up to 50 ex service men and women and the new ambulance will provide much appreciated transport for its residents.

The ambulance was presented to RBLI chief executive John Quin by RBLAT chairman David Switzer.

Also attending the presentation was Daniel Atkinson, Legion Group’s Managing Director.   Legion Group plc is the trading arm of the RBLAT, a registered charity with the objective of assisting the rehabilitation and resettlement of ex servicemen and women into civilian life, and profits from Legion Group go directly to the charity.  Over the last eight years we are proud to have remitted more than £400K from our operational profits to the RBLA to support the organisation in its charitable objectives.
