Legion
Group plc is the trading arm of the
Royal British Legion Attendants Company Trust (RBLACT),
a registered charity whose objective is to support
the employment of ex servicemen and women by providing
training grants
to assist former members of HM Forces to acquire new
skills and increase their employment opportunities
in the civilian environment.
The
RBLACT
is one of Britain’s most respected charitable
organisations and has a long and distinguished history.
In 1921, The British
Legion was formed to help the many disabled and
jobless veterans from the First World War. Local
British Legion branches began to take root around
the country and the first branch of what was later
to become the Royal British Legion Attendant’s
Company was formed in Belfast, when seven men and
a superintendent were recruited to staff some small
car parks in the city. Similar schemes quickly established
themselves in England and Scotland and in 1928 these
local charities were brought together and incorporated
into the single charity now known as The
Royal British Legion Attendants Company Trust.
Whilst Legion Group plc no longer has a formal link with the Royal British Legion, any profit is gift aided back to the Royal British Legion Attendants Company Trust for the benefit of ex service organisations, including The Royal British Legion.
Since
those humble beginnings, Legion Group has gone from
strength to strength. We have embraced new technology
and government legislation in order to keep pace with
developments in the marketplace and provide our customers
with the highest levels of service. And, from being
a purely Parking Management Company, we have diversified
and expanded our services to offer manned guarding,
CCTV monitoring and keyholding services, and innovative, fully integrated solutions utilising today's most advanced technology.
This
combination of parking and security services makes
Legion unique in the marketplace.Remaining
true to the ethics and history of the RBLACT, Legion
Group is active in providing employment to ex members
of the armed forces and other members of the community
with the aim of building on the services’ core
values of loyalty, reliability and discipline.
