Corporate Social Responsibility

Legion Group plc subscribes to the principles of corporate social responsibility. The business philosophy of Legion Group has been developed around a core set of values; loyalty, reliability and integrity. We consider these to be fundamental to the Company’s development and success.

Our values focus clearly on meeting the needs of our employees, customers and suppliers and the consumers of our services and encouraging a shared sense of loyalty. By recruiting employees who demonstrate from the outset the core values of loyalty, reliability, discipline and professionalism we develop our people in their roles so that we are able to use our expertise to deliver security and parking solutions to customers, financial performance for the Company and assist the charitable parent company, The Royal British Legion Attendants Company Trust, in achieving its charitable objectives in the support of development and training needs and employment opportunities for ex-service personnel.

It is the Company’s policy, wherever it conducts activities and business, to ensure that operational procedures are identified which give proper regard to the legal, moral, social and environmental impact of its activities, the conservation of the environment and where practicable contribute to the making of a safer environment to the benefit of the wider community.

The purpose of this Statement is to ensure that those with responsibility for establishing and implementing working practices at all levels of the business have a clear understanding of the Company’s minimum standards of operation and the expectations of our customers and stakeholders.

It is essential that the Company demonstrates these values and ensures that the ethical business standards set out in this Statement are demonstrated throughout our operations and regularly reviewed. We are therefore committed to these standards and will take appropriate action in the unlikely event that they are not being met.

The Company has a key role to play in meeting the Government’s objective of public safety through interaction with the greater police family – including the regulator and associated bodies. We are particularly pleased to have received approval by the Security Industry Authority under the recently introduced Approved Contractor Scheme.

Environmental Policy

As a key business activity Legion Group plc, understands its duty to operate to the highest levels of quality whilst respecting the environment.
Through the maintenance of formal environmental management measures, designed to meet the requirements of The International Environmental Management Systems Standard ISO 14001:2004, Legion Group plc shall where practicable:-

Comply with all relevant environmental laws, regulations and other related requirements,
Assess and manage the significant environmental aspects of its operations,
Monitor and minimise the levels of waste generated by its operations,
Dispose of waste in an environmentally responsible manner, whilst seeking to reuse and recycle where practicable,
Minimise the use of energy through staff awareness and good housekeeping,
Monitor and minimise the levels of fuel use and CO2 emissions arising from vehicle use in the conduct of its business activities,
To minimise the likelihood of environmental incidents through effective procedural controls, and to
Communicate its aims to management, employees and those working on behalf of Legion Group plc and to ensure that all are aware of their environmental responsibilities in relation to its operations.

The Company’s environmental policy forms the cornerstone of its efforts to prevent pollution and continually improve its environmental performance.

We acknowledge that we cannot meet our objectives without the co-operation of our people, shareholder, customers and suppliers, therefore we endeavour to develop and maintain business relationships with all our stakeholders to achieve high standards of service and the continual improvement in all aspects of our business activities.

We conduct our business supported by a Quality Management System to the European Standard BS EN ISO9001, applying relevant Security Industry Codes of Practice, specifically;

    BS7499 Static site guarding and mobile patrol services,
    
BS7858 Security Screening of personnel employed in a security environment,
    
 BS7984 Keyholding and response services,
    
 BS7958, Annex B Closed Circuit television (CCTV) management and operation

in addition to our own Code of Practice for the delivery of Parking Services.

We implement improvements in our business activities based on information gathered from the continual monitoring, measurement and analysis of our performance against these standards.
